According to Reuters, “Goldman Sachs Group Inc., the blue chip investment bank, wants a Netherlands man to change the name of a sex-themed Web site called goldmansex.com. Goldman Sachs last week submitted a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum (NAF) arguing the Internet domain name goldmansex.com would cause confusion and contained links to objectionable “adult” material.”

This is the dumbest dispute I’ve heard to date. There is no fucking way anyone would ever confuse the two. Ever. Seriously. Never.

I hope goldmansex.com makes a fortune off of the free publicity! (And wins the dispute, too)

The company will discontinue selling VHS once its blank media inventory is depleted. The remaining video options at AMVC will continue to be DVD and streaming videos.

“I realize that most other companies jumped on this bandwagon when they saw Blockbuster do it,” says AMVC.com’s co-owner Allen McNulty, “but our VHS sales percentages were just way too high to lose those sales and customers. Now, however, we are seeing a substantially lower percentage of VHS sales vs. our DVD sales, so we feel it’s time to begin phasing it out of our product line.”

And heading it up is…yes…wait for it..a Democrat. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, an Arkansas Democrat, claims this porn tax will make the internet a “safer place for children” and the bill would impose a 25 percent tax on the revenue of most adult-themed Web sites. But…..will we be passing that bill onto you, the consumer?

As an adult company owner, my first thought and hope is that this is the first time the adult entertainment industry has been “legitimized” and as long as the government is making more money from us then maybe they’ll stop riding our collective asses (hey…new video idea right there and you were here when it happened 🙂

But seriously folks….how in fuck’s sake can they say that we’re evil, obscene, smelly, God-less, and should be removed from the planet but then impose a tax on us. Doesn’t make sense. Christ..I just had a horrible thought. What if they make us state-controlled like liquor. They determine our selling hours, our prices, they run the stores, and no porn on Sundays! teehee.

It’s not just the government who take advantage of adult companies though. Yahoo (and others) do the same. Did you know that if you run a non-adult website and want a listing in Yahoo’s Directory that it costs you $299.00 for them to bump you to the top of the list (but doesn’t guarantee inclusion)? Then it’s $299.00 a year “renewal fee”. If you’re an adult website, it’s $699.00 for the bump and then $699.00 every year after. I assume they must have their reasons, but I have no clue what they are (nor does anybody I’ve ever met). Of course after bitching about it, we paid them the money for our listing 🙂

Like everything else the government fucks with me about, I’ll be keeping my eye on this one too.

When asked why he was selling his business, the former owner said, Making porn is fun, but trying to run a porn business is time consuming and not so much fun. Included in the purchase were approximately 20 videos already released on AMVC.com, hours of unreleased footage, several domain names, and digital images and video clips for content. The purchase price was for an undisclosed amount.

This is our first straight video acquisition with this many titles, says AMVC.com co-owner Allen McNulty. When we purchased Eden Pictures and FratBoy Videos, they had a couple of straight videos they’d produced, but this purchase will certainly beef up our straight video ownership. he adds. Now that we’ve substantially increased our total ownership of so many additional videos to the ones we produced ourselves, it will aid us in the launching of several major projects coming to fruition very soon.

Included in the purchase were approximately 34 gay videos and one straight video, which were already exclusively distributed by AMVC.com, and one unreleased gay video. The purchase price was for an undisclosed amount.

“This is one of my favorite producers,” says AMVC.com co-owner Allen McNulty. “We’re extremely sad that FratBoy Amateur Videos will not have any new films after we release the remaining footage,” says McNulty, “but we understand the former owner’s reasons and wish him the best in all his future endeavors. We’re about to launch our new straight video label entitled “Love Shack Videos” and we think that straight video will fit well under that label,” he adds. The gay videos will remain labeled as FratBoy Videos.

“After buying Eden Pictures a couple of weeks ago, this is the second line of videos we’ve acquired within the last month,” notes McNulty. He adds, “We’ve recently begun an aggressive marketing plan that includes streaming and wholesale. As a part of this plan, we intend to include all of these recently purchased videos, our own productions, and the videos of the producers on our site who’ve given us third-party marketing rights. AMVC.com Buys Eden Pictures

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (December 22, 2004) AMVC.com today announced that it has purchased all rights to Eden Pictures, an amateur gay video production company.‘ The owner of Eden Pictures approached us, stating that he’s decided to leave the adult video business and offered us a good price, so we thought it would be a good investment and took him up on his offer’ says AMVC’s co-owner Allen McNulty.

Included in the purchase were several gay videos that are already distributed by AMVC.com, as well as an unreleased amateur straight video and some unreleased gay footage. Also included was an inventory of boxed DVD’s, VHS tapes, digital photos, domain name, email list, and various other items. The purchase price is an undisclosed amount.

AdultHire.com Makes Major Changes

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (December 7, 2004) Adulthire.com today announced that it has removed all job categories from its site that aren’t related to being a model and looking for a producer.’ Before the change, AdultHire.com offered such adult job categories as Retail Staff, Magazine Writers, Video Editors, Sales/Marketing, and several others, but now the site caters only to adult video producers and models.’ Another major change to the site is a mandatory requirement for at least one photo from all models posting ads.

‘The site morphed on its own into a forum for models and producers, says AdultHire.com’s co-owner Allen McNulty. There were some employers seeking job applicants for categories unrelated to being a model, but I’d say about 95% of the site’s content was just models and producers seeking one another. Our goal now is to make that 100% and this change will accomplish that.” he adds.

The mandatory photo requirement should’ve been in place from the beginning, but we didn’t think it would be necessary when we originally built AdultHire.com. As a producer, I was getting very frustrated at the models who were placing ads and begging to become a porn star, but refusing to give up a photo of themselves. They’d use every excuse known to mankind as to why they couldn’t post a photo and it just got tiring. I assumed that it was equally as tiresome to the other producers on the site, so posting at least one photo is now mandatory. McNulty explains.
