As the owner of a porn company for many years, I’ve seen different trends come and go. The most memorable being the switchover from VHS to DVD. Everyone fought it, producers thought it was a bad idea, and the industry was not prepared. Fortunately, we were and made the transition as seamless as possible.
Now…the switch is from DVD to all digital, like Pay-Per-View, etc., and everyone’s fighting it like before, but this time the industry is prepared and has been preparing itself for a couple of years now.
DVD’s are here to stay for a bit longer in the non-porn world and even shorter in the porn world.
I wonder if DVD’s will be collector’s items soon? Regardless, it’s time for those who are not ready for the big switch to put on your big boy pants and get ready.
